In August 2012, Tan Jingyi, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, visited the sand and gravel system at the east end of Jinping II Hydropower Station. Priority is given to use in engineering construction.

The sand and gravel system at the east end of Jinping is the first domestic hydropower project to use marble to produce artificial sand and gravel. The production capacity of finished aggregate is 580 tons per hour, and the processing capacity of wool is 800 tons per hour. The space curve belt conveyor transportation system has a total length of 6.96 kilometers. It has the function of “continuous slag discharge and return material carrying”. It has the characteristics of long distance, large transportation volume and high belt speed. It is the first time to use it in my country’s hydropower construction.

It is worth mentioning that the east end sand and gravel aggregate production system adopts a dry production method. In order to solve the problems of high content of sand and gravel powder and unstable fineness modulus of marble products, the Seventh Bureau of Hydropower has carried out many trials and researches, and realized a great leap from wet sand making to dry sand making, forming a large number of industrial scientific researches. results.
